Meet the Chef
Chef Brian Daoud was born and raised in the beautiful Holy Land of Jerusalem. A place where blue skies and sunshine encourage family and friends to gather around the backyard barbeque – everyone taking part in grilling and preparing farm-fresh salads. For Brian, food has always been about bringing family and friends together to make memories and celebrate life. Living in the melting pot of the culinary world for most of his life, Brian was exposed to a vast array of flavors and cuisines. His ongoing fascination inspired him to begin cooking at a young age and ultimately ignited his passion, drive and creativity.
In 1999, Brian moved to Houston, Texas, to begin a new journey, where he studied the craft of culinary arts at The Art Institute of Houston. Following culinary school, he went on to get his bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management at the Conrad Hilton College at the University of Houston.
Brian kicked off his professional career as an executive sous chef at the Hilton Hotel in Houston. He also worked in different restaurants and catering companies throughout the city, including River Oaks Country Club.
In 2010, Brian followed his dream of opening a restaurant. He moved to Panama City, Florida, and opened his first concept, introducing Mediterranean cuisine to the panhandle. After six years of continual growth and success, Brian turned over the restaurant to his brother—allowing Brian to move back to Houston to do what he enjoys the most, and that’s how Heights Catering began.
